Not a complete fix but 100 times better....
I first had tinnitus March 2016 - and here we are in July 2016
First off was an engine sounding in my head - for a week... then a high pitch noise which has persisted on and off since... now subsided....
Visited ENT based on hearing test suggested a scan but they never came back with an appointment, second hearing test and Audiologist suggested I didn't need a scan... GP (twice) and they were next to useless... suggested 'live with it' and also for pressure behind the ears nasal spray with all its side effects...
Since May I have also experienced a fullness in the ears or pressure... those that have it will know what I mean... no wax at any time....
In May I suggested to the audiologist that it felt like I might have fluid in the middle ear but he didn't think so... he suggested I try the valsalva maneuver several times a day and to go back to him if it doesn't go away...
by looking on the internet etc... as we all do... searching for answers... I found two items that suggested a natural way to remove fluid from the ear and open eustacian tubes... the cheaper of the two is 'Otovent' and I have to say after a couple of days it has made a big difference to the fullness/pressure and my tinnitus is barely noticeable... is the fluid in the ear and tinnitus connected.... personally I think so... I would like the fullness to go completely and will feed back. To be honest I have found this fullness/pressure within the ears as debilitating as the tinnitus.... today I can't say that I have adversely noticed the tinnitus at all...(touch wood)
The bottom line is... try the Otovent - the other is an EarPopper which is much more expensive... (I don't have shares in either) maybe one of these might help someone.
ps.. I have to say that from this experience I have very little faith in 'my' health care professionals...
