Hi,

Does anyone have any idea what might trigger fog horn sounds along with the regular sounds of tinnitus?

Or even what might cause the fog horn sounds?

@Greg175 Did some research and found top mentions as auditory nerve involvement and auditory center involvement - both mentions is nothing out of the usual for tinnitus. A case study mentioned (one patient) when turning neck in either direction fog horn sound appeared.

I get this as well

Are you referring to my comment about this?

A case study mentioned (one patient) when turning neck in either direction fog horn sound appeared.

If you are then your sternocleidomastoid and mastoid are not in balance. When these muscles are not in balance they pull on your neck vertebrae and the mastoid area near the ear which can increase loudness or recreate additional sounds.

Physical therapy can take care of this problem.

I also get the Fog Horn. Sometimes it gets so loud that i cannot hear from my left ear. I acquired this when i got Trigeminal Neuralgia due to years of extreme high blood pressure. Due to blood vessels pounding on nerves coming from the brain stem it wears off the mylin covering the nerves and causes all kinds of strange sensations, sounds, and pain.. nerves can heal if the under lying cause is found and taken care of.
