Food Can Spike Tinnitus? Food Can't Treat Tinnitus!

Nutrition in most of the cases doesn't seem to be a real treatment option for tinnitus. Placebo is a pretty weird thing. Nobody's tinnitus seems to have been cured by eating organic etc.

So, on the other hand, why the $&@! salt/sugar/various foods can spike tinnitus?

I'm tired with this unpredictability. "Hello. I'm Mr. T. You cannot cure me, but you can easily ramp me up!"

Right now I want to devour tonnes of chocolate, ice cream, coffee, spicy snacks and beer.

Because many substances in food cause overexitabilty of neurons in the brain. It's why you can feel "wired" or alert from caffeine for example.

Yeah. I'm always going with decaf now. Wouldn't be nice if there were foods that caused under-exitability. eg. GABA cheese ball snacks.

It would be, but then I would also be fat and have tinnitus. Haha

I find that food doesn't affect tinnitus at all.

Question: During afternoon and evening when I am eating I often get a spike that lasts for a few minutes after. Protein such as meat does not cause it.

However, anything from bread, virtually any type of non protein food causes it. I eat a strict diet of no added sugar, no junk food, mostly just simple whole grain pasta/Quinoa, related. Seems to double the noise but it is short lived after I am done eating. Mine is not ear based but brain caused tinnitus.

Can unilateral TMJ cause bilateral tinnitus? My left ear always feels weird and often aches, but by now 6 ENT didn't see anything in it, so I'm wondering it might be TMJ.
