Foreign Object Was Lodged in My Ear

The ENT found and removed a foreign object in my left ear. He did this 40 days after the onset of my tinnitus.

It removed the sense of fullness in the ear but did not stop the tinnitus.

If the tinnitus is because of this foreign object, would the tinnitus not go away after it's removal? How long after should the tinnitus go away if the object removed is responsible for it.

I am sorry to say but it's possible that the object damaged your hair cells/nerves and that's the real cause of your T.

However your T is still recent so there's certainly a possibility that it fades away. I believe that T has most chance to go away within the first 3-4 months.

Unless it penetrated the ear drum and got to the cochlea how would it damage his hair cells?
