Hello all,
I have had tinnitus since 2020, when I burst my right eardrum while swimming at the bottom of a 10-foot pool. For four years, my tinnitus was very mild, and I could go through most of my days without even noticing it. This past May, I ruptured my right eardrum again, but my tinnitus still wasn't at a level that I found noticeable. However, in July, after going swimming, water—for whatever reason—stayed in my ears for about a month. That's when I noticed my tinnitus becoming severe, reactive, and, honestly, catastrophic. I even had to turn down a job offer out of state because I could barely manage daily life with reactive tinnitus.
Since then, I have seen quite a few ENTs, as I'm sure many of you have, who have tried to help heal my ears. I've had tubes inserted, used a hearing aid, and tried Superdex ear drops. The ear drops have been the only thing that has brought any relief, which makes me suspect that I have had a severe ear infection. In the past, my tinnitus would get very loud whenever I had an ear infection. But now, I'm at my wit's end because about four different ENTs have said they cannot help me, and I'm looking for any way to return to my old life.
My only option now is that I may be a candidate for the Lenire device, though I have heard mixed results about it.
