Noise Exposure(Fire Alarm, Headphone Usage)
Hi everyone,
I got my tinnitus and hyperacusis last week.

Been having issues getting decent sleep, any advice on this?

I've tried using fan masking but it hurt my hyperacusis ear.

Do I just learn to sleep in the silence and endure?

I tried using pink noise today from an app on my phone, put it on speaker directed at the T ear, seems like this noise doesn't really trigger the H, this seems to work for now.

if you find that you can't get any sleep for days, maybe try 1 mg melatonin time release and if that doesn't work then add benadryl and if not working then swap benadryl for doxolomine succiunate, now i have these ready to go myself, but i've been able to somehow get 5 hours a night and so holding off on these sleep aids for fear of increasing my tinnitus, but if i go through another week with only 2 hours a night like 3 weeks ago i will first try the melatonin, see if the T increases and if not working then add the benadryl ainw then the doxolomine which i have right on my night stand ready to try. But warning, if your T was caused by medications like mine, then maybe using another mediction will make your T worse and that's what i'm worried about......ok i see your T was caused by a noise event, so you may be ok in taking these sleep aids just mentioned.

You might try the Sleep Machine app by Sleepsoft. It has a large variety of sounds and combinations of sounds which may mask or distract you from your tinnitus while not hurting your hyperacusis ear.
