Tinnitus Since
10/12/17
Cause of Tinnitus
Unknown, maybe stress, maybe depression
The guy that cut my hair trimmed my ear hair and put the trimmer right on my ear lobe. I didn't know he was going to do that. It was super loud but I just dealt with it as it only lasted maybe 10-15 seconds.

After a few hours my tinnitus is definitely spiked and feels super intrusive, I can't think at all.

Will probably have to deal with this soon myself. Not sure what we can do. My only thought is to ask the barber to switch to scissors and continue that way. I don't know how they'll deal with the trimming around the back though. Most likely will have to wear plugs and deal with it for a few seconds.

It's just a spike. It should get better, it might take a few hours to maybe 1-3 days. I get a haircut once a month and
never have an issue.

Take care :)

Why would he put it on your ear lobe? I don't have a problem with the clipper but it's only near my right (t ear) for about 5 seconds max each time I go.

Since I fear sound due tinnitus, I tell my barber (who's never the same guy appearantly), that he needs to use scissors and not a trimmer, and if he trims I use earplugs for those parts.
I am kinda stressed every time I got to the barber though.

A trimmer isn't that loud, I'd estimate around 70db.

All great suggestions for alleviating this gentlemen's problem. However, I use a BIC Handheld disposable razor. I wet the ear hairs and gently shave them off. You can even use a little shaving cream if your prefer. God Bless Peace.
