Anyone experience their T being louder after grocery shopping, with all the music and the beeps from the register, and what not?

Yep, large supermarkets always make my ears unhappy. Don't know why. But I now always put on earphones with masking noise when I go grocery shopping. Helps a lot.

Weirdly, I actually find relief in louder environments. My T is idiopathic (not noise or trauma induced), so I have no pain or actual ear damage. The noise is all coming from my brain. So louder environments, like the market, actually help me to forget about the ringing. It drowns out the noise in my head. But that's just me.

If I go out to a cafe or shopping I can't here the tinnitus there, but as soon as I get home, the tinnitus is twice the volume it was before I left. No idea why.

I think this is me too

I use the policy of over protection. I use noise cancelling bose 15 in the supermarket because transient cart crash sounds, over head page, beep etc all take their toll. I listen to quiet mp3 music and keep bose on almost all the time there is any possibility of noise.
