Habituation or Is Tinnitus Getting Better?

I has only been over a month since I have tinnitus but this past 2 days it feels like I hear it less and less during the day and at night time it does not freak me out like in the beginning.. It actually feels less intrusive... Am I habituating to T or in fact T can get better and diminish greatly?

 

Habituation usually doesn't kick in until after 6-12 months. So it's probably resolving on its own, which is what happens in most circumstances.

It's those kids you got, they mask the tinnitus ^_^.

Habituation to loud sounds is a myth. So yeah, your tinnitus is softening. You are now in Recovery mode, hold that!

 

How long did u have tinnitus?

 

8 months!!

 

Same here. Most people will have their tinnitus fade in a year.For Few it might take like 2 years.

The loud sounds will subside, thats definite.

Mine is fading slowely. I would rate it 6/10. Was 8/10 when started. Progressing each month like 4%.

I project to be fully recovered in 1.5 - 2 years. But I am already much better now. Almost back to normal life.

just make sure to protect your hearing, get your supplements, cut caffeine and limit sugar. Just work to optimize ur health.

That puts you in the same wretched place I am in, after only 18 months. I'm no closer to habituation, then being a lottery winner. There's pussycat T and then there's tiger T. No human being could habituate, this obnoxious screamer.

 

If tinnitus persist/ still loud for more than 2 years that would indicate that the issue causing tinnitus is still occuring.
