Haircut — Should I Wear Earplugs?

Going to get my haircut for the first time in a while as going away with my girlfriend for a few nights and it's long overdue.
The barbers is loud (4-5 chairs going in a small 4m x 4m room with hairdryers and they also play music pretty loud.( it's close and they do a good job which is why I don't move barbers)
will wearing earplugs make my T worse because when the clippers are on your head it sounds like the noise is trapped in and amplified 10x but without them there will be loud music and hairdryers...
going in about 10 minutes so need advice quick.
Can't risk masking my T worse don't want to ruin my break with the misses.

Have you considered a ponytail? Seriously, just go to a nice quiet salon. That's what I do.

what about with plugs? is there increased perception of the clippers from the plugs dangerous,

Surely they are not blastint out 80-90 decibels in the morning? If they are then don't go!!! Other than that its fine.

If there is loud music, then you need plugs. And yeah, there is the occlusion effect from the clippers with earplugs. This is not just perception but an actual increase in loudness. But I don't know how loud the clippers might be in this situation.
probably wouldn't surprise me if it was around that loud. Will earplugs make it even worse due to the increase sound in your head from the clippers?
still could have hairdryers blasting me from a few feet away. Already going through a bad spike and don't want to ruin my another which is why I thought of wearing plugs. But then I realised the plugs will increase the sound of the clippers on my head and that could make it worse as well.. might just give it a miss

No I don't think they would as the noise is not coming from inside your head. Saying that i would never consider wearing plugs to get my hair cut.
My barber doesn't blast out music, normally just has a tv/ radio on a sensible volume.
had it done, asked them to turn the music down a bit and they did and one of the barbers even said he gets T but doesn't hear it all the time! seemed pretty loud with the clippers round my ear so put earplugs in half way through. I'm probably just anxious doubt there's any problems

So, first, please see my posting history to understand my situation. My tinnitus is louder than most and also I recently had a hearing issue that required me to get on prednisone about three weeks ago.
Basically, I have been putting off getting a haircut recently to avoid the noise from the clippers and the jet of air they use to blow off hair on shoulders at the end.
Do I need to wear earplugs in a situation like getting a haircut? Or is that overkill?
I feel weird doing it as I never did it before. But, my ears recently had trauma three weeks ago and don't want to damage them further.
What do I do in my situation? Again, I have measurable high frequency hearing loss as well.

No, I do not think you need to use earplugs for the clipper noise. Similar to a dentist, I think there would be some occlusion effect if you did.
My son has always hated how loud haircuts can be. To help him, I make his appointments for when the salon is not busy. His stylist is great and uses a scissors for as much as possible. The trimmer is not used for very long, and it's usually turned on and off versus, for example, 10 minutes of constant use. She uses a lint roller rather than a blowdrier to help clean up any hair on his shoulders at the end.
He goes to a children's salon that is well aware that loud noises can scare kids. They also serve children with autism and other sensory disorders so the stylists are awesome. That said, they also do adult haircuts. Unless you have a longtime stylist that you trust and prefer, maybe look for a similar children's salon in your area. Call them beforehand and explain your condition, I think they'll be able to help put you at ease.
