Hearing a Low Heartbeat After a Very Heavy Cold

I'm looking for some reassurance.

I recently developed a very heavy cold. About three days in, when I started feeling 'stuffed up,' I suddenly noticed a strange noise, like a low heartbeat. At first, I thought it was the clock, but then I realized it was coming from me. It's not really bothersome unless the house is quiet; I tend to lose track of it in background noise, like when the TV is on.

I'm wondering if this could just be a result of my heavy cold. I Googled it, and now I'm really scared.

You should get an electrocardiogram to rule out atrial fibrillation (or anything else an EKG might reveal).
