Cause of Tinnitus
Allergies?
Hi Everyone,
I am new to the site. I have it bad in my left ear. Sometimes the ringing is so loud it scares me.
I have tried chiropractic, acupuncture, vitamins, Claritin, Nose Sprays, and it still keeps ringing 24 hours a day 7 days a week. My name is Daniel Kevin if anyone wants to write back and complain as well.

Good luck to all of you.

Hi Daniel Kevin!

I'm sorry that you have tinnitus and i'm very sorry that it's very loud sometimes. I hope you can keep your hope up.
You write that your cause of tinnitus is allergies. You may be able to get rid of your tinnitus if it's caused by allergies.

You've come to an awesome website with lots of caring members and lots of information you can dive into.

Decongestants can cause tinnitus. Below is a post from this forum. Most antihistamines fall in the drug category of being anticholinergic. These kinds of drugs are almost always ototoxic (toxic to the ears).

Claritin does cause tinnitus, it is on the drug list.

Thanks I learned something from this site already. My MD said to use Nasonex year round. For some reason two years ago my ringing got louder, and hearing loss increased. Doctors also wanted me to get a hearing aid. I hate having this so much. I know I am annoying because I have to turn up the volume on the TV all the time. Also sleep with a fan 365 days a year. It really sucks. I know I am preaching to the choir.

Sorry to hear of your Tinnitus Dylan. I believe we might be paddling the same boat. My tinnitus is terrible this past year. It's louder and even more annoying, this Tinnitus. Ringing pitch is much higher and changing constantly 24/7, the higher pitch out ruling the previous lower ringing. It goes down several times a day. Each time it elevates, I am not ready for it so it makes me nervous, anxious and nauseous at times. I wonder if ti will ever end, without loosing my hearing. #Annoying #Praying for a cure.
