My tinnitus started a day after a very bad car crash that totaled my car. A whiplash injury seems tho be the cause of my ongoing tinnitus and headaches. The tinnitus sound I hear is a shrill constant pitch, similar to a teakettle whistle. Nice to hear from people with experience in this. Its hard for others to understand fully what it's like.
