Cause of Tinnitus
Not sure
Hi, My name is Missy.

I have suffered from tinnitus for 4 years now. It started when I was in school. We had class in an old house part of the day for lab and this furnace down there was making a hissing noise that only I could hear. It drove me crazy. I went to the dr they gave me predisone. This did nothing.

I had gone to an ENT who said it could be caused by loud noise exposure and that the tiny hairs were bent. I have suffered with allergies for years. Always worse in winter, I live in Ohio. I just recently found this board. I love all the information.

So what I am trying currently. Nasacort nasal spray, magnesium at night. I feel like my eustachian tubes do not work great. I recently went on a cruise in October and since then I now have a popping noise with not only swallowing but sometimes when I move my neck. I did recently purchase eustachi. It is a little device you put in your nose and it blows air to open your eustachian tubes, I have not used it consistently enough , so I am going to start doing that.

Yesterday, I had a high spike in my T and used peroxide in both ears for 10 minutes to clean out an ear wax and then I used the nasacort before bed and took 1 magnesium pill. This morning it is low hissing. I am hoping I am onto something. I do notice I clench my jaw a lot during the day and night, I am trying to relax more, easier said than done.

Anyhow, I am happy to be here and I pray we all find relief.

@Missy Garner ,
Welcome to Tinnitus Talk .
Try adding a antihistamine to reduce your allergy mucous and see if that helps along with your spray.
Love glynis

Please never do this again. @anusha is still suffering from T that she got as a result of pouring hydrogen peroxide into her ears:
They saw that there is some ear wax in left ear and probably its blocking my hearing and they poured hydrogen peroxide. The moment they poured that it felt like they poured acid in my ear and i was crying horribly with pain and there started the continuous ringing..........
