I am here at the suggestion of my therapist in the hopes that I can learn better coping skills for my tinnitus. I intend to read all your stories and ask questions when I need help. Thank you for this forum and thank you for your welcomes.

Hello! I have been going through IOP where I learned CBT / DBT for coping skills. It's not going to get rid of the T and does not make my life glorious or anything but it does help. I also make sure that I have my AudioNotch app playing at night to help mask my sound for sleeping purposes.

Side note. I am surprised a therapist told you to go to the internet/forums for coping mechanisms. It's usually 101 to tell patients to get off Facebook, Twitter, Forums etc...

I think it's to help me get out of my emotional box. This rather severe tinnitus seems to be the cause of my depression and anxiety for a lot of years. My audiologist is working hard to help me with updated hardware like hearing aids with maskers. My therapist is trying to help me cope so I don't go off the deep end mentally.

Thank you for replying.
