So, I went to a TMJ specialist today after poking around my sore jaw for a while he tells me that he's not sure if he can help me or not. I have to go back with my bite guard, etc., etc. Now after all that jaw moving and prodding that super high pitch is back and this noise is out of control. The exact opposite of what I was hoping to accomplish by going there. WTF!!??

Put an ice pack on your jaw to reduce inflammation and give it a couple of days to settle down again and the ice should help..lots of love glynis

I did that before and just tried it again. The ringing goes up with heat or ice. Now it's even louder. What the heck is wrong with me?!

Idk I don't see anything about them helping tinnitus. I don't really care about the pain. I've lived with that forever. I don't think I want to risk putting anything in my ears. I only hear out of one.

Cerezen TMJ treatment

Hi Cillian - I've attached the website below for Cerezen along with e-mail from representative. I hate to discourage you, but I was looking into them before. Cerezen has been discontinued in the US. I asked my doctor about it, and he said the effects from it were an ineffective treatment. It merely holds your ear in a set position, so as soon as you take them out, the problems return. Great when using them, but unless you plan on wearing them the rest of your life not so much.

Thank you for contacting us regarding locating a prescriber for the Cerezen™ inserts in the Baltimore area.
Unfortunately, as of Friday, April 8, the Cerezen™ inserts will no longer be available in the United States.
Thank you again for your inquiry and please feel free to contact us with any additional questions.

@Cillian - You may want to inquire about why before investing your money in them, which is the only reason I mentioned it. When I asked the representative, she told me it was due to lack of sales. When I asked a few doctors here, they told me either they didn't know about them or the success rate wasn't good. One doctor basically told me its pretty much a hollow custom ear plug. You should still look into them. Please just ask a lot of questions and get references.

I was researching my TMJ symptoms, found these inserts, and got a little excited. I contacted them and this was their reply:

Bummer...

I have a pair of Westone custom earplugs and they serve the same purpose. Made the same way. They take a mold of your ear canal while your mouth is open. If you take the removable noise canceling filters out of them, you can hear just fine. Plus they're fabulous as earplugs too! Get them through your audiologist.
Nevertheless, I just started using them for TMJ/Tinnitus. No noticeable change yet.

Sound good, maybe its time to get new ear plugs, do they help for live music?

I realize this is an older post, but I have just discovered this site. Dealing with some tinnitus but mostly TMJ symptoms from clenching my jaw at night - serious neck tension and head pain. Have tried many things such as chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, supplements, and a mouth guard. I had discovered the Cerezen website and was getting excited until I saw the posts that it was discontinued in the U.S.

Sean Og, can you tell me more about the Westone custom earplugs? You posted that you had started using them about 6 months ago...how are they working? Are you a clencher/grinder and if so, has it helped with that?

Any help would be appreciated. I am open to any suggestions. Thanks so much!!
