21. I've had tinnitus since I was 17, probably due to sound. Was really bad at first, but faded to the point where I barley heard it in only a few weeks.
Got worse in November of 2019, again due to sound. (A loud event and frequent use of earbuds.) Wasn't doing anything different than anyone else my age, but I got hit with tinnitus while all my friends are fine.
I'm 58 and I first got tinnitus at the age of 22 - you definitely learn to "tune it out" - I have had several increases over the decades due to stressful life situations and health issues - just go with the flow! The weird thing is I have hearing loss too (that came first at the age of 15 - so the tinnitus was probably because of that but even more hearing loss over the years gradually, so that now at 58 y/o I have zero hearing in right ear and 50% hearing in left ear - and major hyperacusis from my left ear trying to manage it all! All in all if I can hear my grandkids - I'm happy!
