If a Chiropractor Were to Realign My Jaw, Would My TMJ Split Bring It Back to Its Current Alignment?

Cause of Tinnitus
Neck/Jaw misalignment
Before I got my TMJ splint 3.5 years ago, 2 months into my tinnitus from neck and jaw issues my tinnitus was bad and I had 4-5 different sounds in my head. Now I have 1-2 sounds so the splint has helped.

I'm about to go to this new chiropractor who says he can fix TMJ (I can only open my jaw about 75% and it clicks).

My question is if the chiropractor realigns my jaw so I can open it all the way, would the splint bring it back to its current alignment and not allow my jaw to correct itself?

It feels dangerous and potentially damaging for anyone here to speak to this. I know it's a bit obvious to ask, but have you considered speaking with the professional that installed your splint about this?

No, I didn't really think about it until now and I don't have any more TMJ appointments with the specialist I was seeing.

If your TMJ is fixed by your chiro, would you still need to wear a splint?
