I have a question.

If there are missing otoacoustic emissions, does it mean hair cells are dead or that there may be problem with f.ex. synapses?

Would hair cells give OAE responses with broken connections with nerves?

it means that outer hair cells are damaged. I have some damaged outer hair cells on L ear, but on R ear they are fine..however on R ear inner hair cells are damaged.
