Has anyone on here ever tried/considered this?

I've read that IGF-1 can be used locally to facilitate the healing of nerves damage. I'm thinking about ordering some and experimenting on myself.

Could this be beneficial to tinnitus sufferers?

Anybody? I'm pretty close to ordering a vial... Igf-1 repairs cells within the body. I think this could be beneficial, but I don't really know what I'm doing or fully understand the risks either. I have a gut feeling that this could be huge though.

But how are you going to use it? Inject yourself in the ear?

Here an interesting article on igf-1:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4159992/

No mention of T. though.

That's actually the study that piqued my curiosity, I'm thinking dilute it with something and use it like ear drops. I'm kind of worried about the potential side effects of doing this long term though... Hgh has been known to cause organ growth in high enough doses, igf-1 is what what hgh is converted to by our body. I don't want my cochlea becoming enlarged.

I know you are probably desperate for something to reduce your t, but id be careful with any of the treatments that aren't validated by scientific enquiry. This is the dilemma I faced with stems. You don't want to do yourself any further harm. Id be dubious about injecting anything into my ears!

Ear drops cannot get to the inner ear.

Thank you for your concern Deb. I tend to be a risk taker, and was hoping to find something that could not only help me, but the rest of us suffering with this difficult condition. But it looks like one of our members has already tried this, to no avail... Case closed on igf-1 I guess.

Just had a chance to read through the whole thread... Damn, thought I was on to something. Thanks for finding that my friend, for whatever reason I didn't find (or notice) that igf-1 log when I searched T talk. The cochlea is a tough nut to crack, I had high hopes for igf-1.
