I'm 15 and I Think I Have Tinnitus

2 weeks ago I got a bad cold where I was constantly coughing loudly. Like every second I would cohgh so my parent give me some cough syrup and ib profan. It took away the cold but a few days later my right ear starting ringing constantly its not very loud buts its there. How do I get rid of it

Welcome to the forum. Sorry about your tinnitus at such a young age. But it is quite common these days to have T at young age for whatever reasons. You should get a doctor/ENT (ear-nose-throat specialist) to check out your ears. Perhaps there is some issue with ear drums due to coughing or that there is infection. Perhaps when these problems are healed, the T will subside or disappear. Here is a TT thread giving you step by step instruction on what to do when T is new. If it's not very loud, that's a good sign for the future. I don't know if you can get rid of it but as @billie48 said you need to get an appointment with the ENT to check for possible causes which would determine if there are possible treatments for it. There's a vast range of causes for tinnitus, so there's no one way to "get rid of it", if you are lucky they'll find something related to it like an infection or something, get that out of you and perhaps you'll be left without the sound.

Hopefully it's just related to your cough/illness, but we've no way of knowing. Stay off of the ibuprofen as it's known to cause hearing damage and tinnitus itself.

I went the ENT and they said my hearing is perfect and I dont have an infection or wax build up. She said it could be mucus build up in the canal in the jaw. She said to come back in month if it's still there for scans. When she held my jae and I opened it the right side popped so she said it could be joint problem
