I think this smoky air from the fires in California is causing my PT to be much, MUCH worse. I have been living with this for years without too much bother but lately it's so, so loud.

I have been doing a bunch of research and am wondering what to do next and am hoping that one of you can help.

I have had all the tests, even a cerebral angiogram. Nothing was found. I do have perforated eardrums from some adult tubes they put in my ears due to my eustachian tube dysfunction.

What kind of doctor can I search out for a cure? I keep looking on whooshers.com where people have been healed and I want that to be me. What kind of specialist can I go to? I know ENTs can't do shit. Please help!!!!!

Praying for rain to clear this poison air.

Thanks all!!!

Hello Ashlie I do not know if this is your first time on Tinnitus Talk Forum. If it is welcome to the forum no one really wants to belong to. Mine started only 3 or 4 weeks ago, dial tone in both ears at different pitches, so I am somewhat new myself. This forum I have found has a lot of good information, opinions, and support. I encourage you to run through the support and introduce yourself categories. You can get a lot of infor. from the responses to other people's questions by people who have more experience and insight into this than I do. If PT stands for Pulsintial Tinnitus explore the category for as well. If you are new to this forum please be patient as this forum is a world wide forum, so people often respond to your posting from another continent and time zone, so be patient if you look and wonder why has no one looked and replied, I just happened to still be up.

As for a cure from the medical world, the overal prognosis seems to be not now, maybe in the future as companies are starting to invest more money into this world. On a positive note, from my readings, a good number of people heal with time, patience, and support. I am treating my T in the initial stages with lots of quiet so as not to make them worse, waiting for moulded ear plugs to protect from noises that may make it worse, and trying to keep the stress levels down by meditating which I have been doing for years. I also practise self-Reiki, and for me I feel it works. Reiki is energy work, and for some people it is one small step this side of a joke, and for others it is a placebo, and for others it works. After three weeks, my T is fluctuating in volume, and there have been times when I have moments of silence from a couple of minutes to a couple of hours. These are all hopeful signs. Now can I claim that all the things I have been, and am doing, have resulted in this progress? Hard to say, but it is what I am doing, and will continue to do. I am off work on hollidays, so that has been a big help as well.
Anyways, best of luck, don't give up on hope, for hope is a good thing, and something that we humans need to always keep close to our minds, heart and soul.
