Tinnitus Since
As long as i can remember
Cause of Tinnitus
i dont know/cant remember
Hello everyone! I'm Therese, 24 years old from Norway. I've had Tinnitus for as long as I can remember.

I don't know what caused it but ringing in my ear has been my constant companion. So much so that i don't really take notice of it anymore. I don't seek "quiet", cause thats when I'll really hear the 'internal orchestra' per se. When I'm very stressed it will increase in volume and sometimes there'll be a 'popping' sound on one ear, and my hearing on the afflicted side will go down and I'll hear a sharp iiiiiiiiii sound xD.

Anyone with similar experiences? The sound that i hear is probably not the highest (I've heard stories of people with so bad tinnitus that they didn't know what to do with themselves.) I can always hear the ringing above the other "normally loud" everyday sounds.

When I'm out at clubs i wont hear it but afterwards the ringing really increases in volume for a féw days.
(I've had tinnitus since i was a little kid so clubbing wasn't the cause)

Anyhow, nice to meet you! Have a great day

You may want to listen to your body. One day the louder ringing after visiting a club might not go get quieter... You might want to stay away from loud places like clubs and concerts.

Clubbing may or may not be the cause of your tinnitus, but for sure it can impact the ears eventually and cause more issues. I'd highly suggest that if you do go to such loud place, protect your ears. Damaging the ears are not reversible.

I know that my tinnitus was impacted from loud noises.....

@fishbone
I think all of us that have 'noise induced Tinnitus' - which describes the predicament of most of us - realise that it is not essentially curable.
There is no realistic way to turn it off.

But it's not all doom and gloom.
"T" can become much less worrying.
As natural acceptance becomes the norm, despair can recede, to be replaced with toleration, reluctant at first, but improving all the time, hopefully.
The real question, perhaps the only question, is - how do we get there from here?
