COVID-19 vac? who knows?
I started digging into the EudraVigilance database soon after the launch of the mRNA vaccines and quickly found numerous reports of serious side effects, including tinnitus and hyperacusis.

I'm very glad my family and I stayed far away from these shots. It seems to me that they disrupt the immune system and may be causing antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE). Time will tell.

It's not the first time it went horribly wrong with vaccines.

The unfortunate thing about COVID-19 is that it can cause all of that: tinnitus, hyperacusis, brain fog, and much worse, on its own. Since avoiding it forever is unlikely, it makes sense to have some protection against potentially severe outcomes if you do get it.

Nothing in life is entirely safe. It is upsetting when things that feel avoidable lead to these issues, but risks are always present. For example, I could have spent my entire life sitting in my room, avoiding loud music under the illusion of safety, but a freak accident, like a cheap power supply exploding nearby, could still have resulted in me developing tinnitus. And I am quite sure I would not have enjoyed my life as much that way.

Still, it must be incredibly distressing for those who did develop tinnitus this way. Hopefully, some good comes from it and helps push research forward.

If you end up in an emergency room with severe COVID-19, surrounded by a surgical team trying to keep your lungs open (God forbid), they will be completely focused on keeping you alive and breathing. They are not going to ask whether you have a history of auditory problems. They are on the front lines and at risk themselves.

That being said, it seems the COVID-19 virus has changed and is now much milder. The last I heard on a radio report was that it primarily causes diarrhea or other intestinal issues.

It looks like the next concern is bird flu jumping from birds to mammals. It has already spread to cows and, in rare cases, to humans in close contact.

Stock up on canned food, bottled water, rice, and dried beans—and stay down in the bunker. 😬

Yes, I read that they are not entirely sure why it has become so mild. It could just be how coronaviruses naturally behave, or it might be a fluke, and it could resurge in a much worse form.

I think they already have vaccines for bird flu, so it should not be quite the same, or at least we hope.

Bunker living is what I am going to be doing anyway! It would just be nice to know everyone else has to as well. 😏

Unfortunately, this caused my once manageable tinnitus to become catastrophic in 2021. I have mostly adjusted, but I now deal with an overwhelming number of tones—probably 20 to 30 in total. It used to be just a light hissing and a single tone.

I was extremely hesitant to take the vaccine but was terrified of getting tinnitus from COVID-19 itself. It feels cruel that one shot worsened my condition this severely.

Fortunately, it has lessened to some degree, and as I mentioned, I have habituated. I can mask it throughout most of the day.

At first, there was hope that it was just inflammation and that it could resolve, unlike tinnitus caused by noise damage. That has not been the case for me.

My sympathy. The brand of vaccine might have played a role, the company that manufactured that particular vaccine.

In situations like this, where a new virus emerges and multiple vaccines become available, it is often only afterward that we learn which one may have had unintended effects.
