Tinnitus Since
02/2016
Hi Guys,
ive been posting here, since my onset 4 months ago.
My T mostly is mild all the time, and it sounds like an electric/white noise/90s tv static on
i have experience some days with almost 0 tinnitus
and some days like today i would say its a 6 out of 10.
my problem is that it fluctuates a lot!!! :(
on thursday the sound was bearly there (1 out of ten) then yesterday a 4.5 and now a 6
its a total rollercoaster, whats going on?
ive been able to sleep these past 4 months but this past nights have been very difficult.

Hey Mario

First of all I'l like to thank you for being friendly and so lovely on TT. I always lile to read your optimistic comment in threads :)

Our T sounds like the same. It is like electrical sound like someone forgot TV on mute mode. M T DOES fluctuates so much that this makes habituation almost impossible to happen. I do not know why though. Do you know if sugar and salty foods trigger it? Or do you get easily stressed? I know stress makes my T spike! And please be sure that you are sleeping enough. Insomniac nights can make T so much worse.

Beste

Hey Beste! Thank you for replying :)
thank you so much for your comments, i like to keep it that way and being optimistic.

and yes! its like someone forgot tv on mute hehehe.
Sugar and salt does spike my tinnitus, sugar it usually last for a few moments, but salt spikes it all day D:
i think i havent eat anything different these past days.

on Thursday night... right after my therapy, my tinnitus was bearly there, i had to cover my ear to listen for it, and a few times there was Nothing D: i even was afraid to go to sleep.
sleep seems to reset my tinnitus, then yesterday i woke up with tinnitus a little bit louder.
and also today, a little bit louder.
sometimes i dont know if im doing things correctly, like for example, yesterday i drove around 2 hours, and went to the mall with no ear plugs, noise was around 80db?, i mean i dont have to over protected my ears right?
last night i took a cab, cause it was raining, and the car was making this weird noise because of the rain, i really hope it doesnt make my tinnitus worse...
im not sure if this is a spike or just one of those days were the volume is a little louder.

Don't worry! It will be better soon! It's raining hard here ( flooding) and my t is a little louder than usual! But just keep your aniexty low and it won't go up more! I know I have about five good days and then one bad day! I'm already prepared for it! Great job getting out and enjoying your time at the mall! I work in mall with music playing so it shouldn't be that! :D

I think if you do not have bad hyperacusis or reactive T you should not protect your ears from daily sounds like malls etc. I read couple times it can make our hearing very sensitive and that may cause hyperacusis like hearing sensitivity. Fluctuating T needs no triggers to spike or get worse or get well. It is just what it is unfortunately. I have it and I do not know if I can habituate to it.

Hugs

Here is raining a lot too, but this hasnt spike my tinnitus in the past.
but to be honest i have felt with a little anxierty and i know this might be making me listen out for it more!
and yes!! i enjoyed my time at the mall, im glad you spend time there, it can be very distractive :D

Sometimes i feel like if i had taken am-101 based on patience fluctuations hahaha.
i dont think my t is reactive, and no, i dont wanna have hyperacusis, thats why i dont over protect my ears,
but of course i dont expose myself to loud sounds, no matter what!

Last week I noticed a big change one day out of the blue, seemingly unrelated to anything I ate, bad sleep, etc. THen I realized that there was a storm system coming through. I wonder about weather changes!!!

Be glad it fluctuates, that's not a bad sign. Especially if you get days or almost complete silence!

Thanks Alue, i would like to think of it has to be a good sign, and to be honest 2 nights ago my tinnitus did went away for a few minutes, no "eeeee" not even covering my ears, but today its surely a solid 6, unable to "mask" it, and i surely feel a little anxious, cause everyday is like playing lottery lol

Every day is around a 6-7 for me. :(
Alexsongitus seemed to have a lot of fluctuations like you, and I think it gradually got better for him.
Maybe sleep and diet play a roll? That or stress?

Out of curiosity, do you hear your T in your ears or your head mostly?

Yes! sometimes i feel like my T fluctuates like Alexsongitus but i didnt get am-101 lol
awh man i hope you habituate pretty soon, or that am 101 injections kick very soon for you.
maybe i need to sleep more, and cut bread and cheese, i dont think it plays a huge role in my tinnitus.
lately ive been feeling a little tired, sorta dizzy and foggy, maybe its because of my sleeping problem, i also have apnea lol

Mine fluctuates too. Unfortunately, it is always there. I have noticed that it is louder certain times of day. I can almost always count on it to be loud before bedtime. It sounds like an alarm is going off. I think the worst part about this is not knowing what is wrong. When we get new sounds or volumes, something is obviously going on. Then, we are just told, "Well, that's tinnitus." Really? I am so glad I have spent all this time and energy going to drs for them to tell me that I have tinnitus, because I certainly wasn't able to figure that one out on my own.

I think all of us sufferers should start researching this together. Either that or we should figure out a way to give drs tinnitus. I bet it would be solved pretty quickly if we did that.

Hang in there.

Funny, I was told I may have mild apnea before I had the acoustic trauma that set off my tinnitus. Sleep does seem to make a bit of difference to me.

I've had one or two 5/10 days in the past 4 months and at that level I feel like this is something I can live with / habituate to. The rest of the days are a struggle to be completely honest.

Out of curiosity, do you perceive your T in your head or in your ears?

Apnea is listed in the longest list of "probable causes of tinnitus" lol
but i dont know...
i percieve my T both, ear (left one), head....sometimes... and also sometimes t switches ears lol.

Have you been to a Dr yet? If you haven't you really should. There are a lot of hearing and vestibular disorders that you want to be treated for if you have one.

the first 2 months i did went, at first the Dr told me i had Blocked eutachian tubes,
then he said i might a have a problem in the middle ear because of too much music... to be honest
i think its only tinnitus my problem, these past days i have felt this way cause i´ve been sleeping late and not resting well. i think i need to change a lot my lifestyle, but thank you!! right now my problem is tinnitus being different everyday.
