Introducing Myself...

I'm Bryan.
Had T for almost a year now. Used to come and go, but now it's not going. I've mentioned in a post before about my anxiety and depression. Sometimes I wonder if they are a part of the problem.
I'm 45, so "age" isn't a factor yet. However I've read many, many people here way younger than me having it.
Whatever your age... IT SUCKS!
I do not enjoy my life as much as I used to. Yes, it can do that to you. Obviously it's better when it's not as loud. But when it's screaming in my ear, and I'm already depressed, well, let's just say I've held a gun to my head twice already.
If it wasn't for my little girl...

Youre in good company here ... hopefully others will respond and you will realise that you are definitely not alone in your suffering.

I am sorry that your t is now continuous. Having said that, I am not sure how I would cope with intermittent t, never really sure when it is going to come and go....that might make it harder to habituate?

Have you been evaluated by an ent and audio? do you have a hearing loss?

I have experienced t for over a year now. I thought I had habituated until a few days ago. I understand how anxiety and depression can affect your perception and reaction to the noise...as I am currently bothered by it all over again. I know this wont last and I will eventually get back to not caring again ( I hope). you will too

whatever you can do to calm down your limbic system will help your t. when I am feeling very agitated, I get busy. amazing how productive ive become now that I have t. I like having massages, being in nature, helping others.

Hang in there and talk to others on this forum and keep reading the 'Success Stories' to gain strength. Everyone here understands and feels for you. I am in a similar place in my journey. We need to hold on and keep it together for our loved ones. Have you sought any medical advice or treatment?

Yeah, I was told to "get used to it"... I fired his ass!

Thank you Dubbyaman and everyone else. It really helps to know I'm not alone. I do hope and pray we are entering the era of "solid t treatments" and hopefully a cure! But I'll stick with a solid treatment for sure.

My dad bought these "masking" hearing aids... they're okay. Better than nothing. I'm basically going to start with the basics... cut the coffee intake, try and reduce stress, alcohol... we'll see.

I've held a gun to my head twice already.

No guns in Spain but have given a try to a plastic bag in my head... Hell! things get really hot in there and I was in some serious need for passing. Next day I met a girl with whom I've been having a crush for the last 10 or + years, we started dating and my T, a RAUCOUS LOUD WILD SCREECHING BAS**RD one, started to be no as important as before. Mind is a bit*h!

tried a lot of sound therapy white noise waterfalls rain noise some music this helps to drown it out but no lasting significant results, I have made heated olive oil and crushed garlic formula and put in my ear couple of warm drops this has mixed results sometimes effective sometimes not,

I have been to ear doctors and audiologist who have done nothing all there remedy's are about money and all I have been told I have mild hearing loss I am in my 50s so its not a surprise I could guess that my self but the hearing component was $2000 bucks weather it worked or not
