I met many people who got tinnitus in their life time.. They says it took 1 year and more for them to get cured.. So can i believe that.. Things really gets better.. And my noise level has reduced from 6/10 to 3/10..so.. Waiting for your kind replies.. Offer some help

Hi Kiran and a warm welcome to the forums.
for lots of people with tinnitus it can go away and usually by having tinnitus under six months as a guide and anything longer their is more chance it might stay ..lots of love glynis

My uncle had it for 7 months.. After that it's gone... And i know many people whose T gone after 2 years also... So how can you decide.. If we are having it for more than 6 months means it stays for life long...

Hi,
I said" their is more chance after 6months it MIGHT stay" "that does not mean it will"
So hope that has helped you understand better...lots of love glynis

Hi Kiran,
Unfortunately my tinnitus was caused by Menieres Disease that is a progressive disease and along with other side effects its left me with hearing loss and sever bilateral tinnitus that wont ever go.
I wear duel purpose hearing aids and it helps me to cope better as takes the edge off my sound.
I have had it many years now and I push hard stay happy .
How are you coping with your sound ?...lots if love glynis

I have been sitting in silent places to get used to it... I have mild conductive hearing loss... Does that mean it goes away?

I don't have vertigo or anything.. I have lesss hearing loss.. Came to know by audio gram test... Chances of getting better are more for me i think... What do you say...

I'm new to this also. From everything I've been told tinnitus CAN improve/go away on its own under 6 months. After 6 months its still possible also just a little less likely. Even if it doesn't go away most of us learn to deal with it, habituate in 12 months time or so. There are treatments if your T is especially bothersome, like tinnitus retraining therapy, hearing aids, cognitive behavioral therapy etc. If you are interested in the treatments I believe you should seek an audiologist's help. I know how scary this can be and especially feeling alone as I've only been dealing with this for 7 weeks but hang in there.. things CAN get better and even if they don't (to repeat what I've been told here) WE WILL BE OKAY.

I'm approaching 8 months and still the same noise level (about 6 out of 10 in my right ear).

When I workout and run every other day, it makes a world of difference and my whole mood about T changes. -- It really helps me stop focusing on it.

I remember being very very depressed with money problems about 5 years ago (no more though) so I know first hand that life can always be much worse even if you don't have T.

Hang in there everyone!
