I believe you are referring to my "Letter to a Tinnitus Sufferer." I will attach it below to this response.

In terms of your second question, I think you should start out with a basic ENT evaluation and audiological evaluation. Once the few "fixable" causes of tinnitus have been ruled out, and once the even fewer causes of tinnitus that can be an actual threat to your health have been ruled out, then what you do or do not do about your tinnitus really depends on how much it bothers you - so those are the sorts of things what you should discuss with your doctors after your evaluation is complete.
