First off mine is more on the mild side. I can hear it in quiet room, it's probably a 3/4 - multiple tones, new ones that come and go. I've learned to just let it be. Staying off this forum has helped immensely. Honestly I get it, you want to be around people who feel your pain but I fought to try to have my life back and I do have it back. I am back to my old self. When I do hear it, I let it be and let it pass.

I have the Lectrofan Micro on Amazon, it is amazing and plays a few realistic fan sounds plus a few different white noise options. It's small and you can bring it anywhere with you, people won't even realize there isn't a fan in the room. I keep it in my livingroom so that it's not dead quiet in the house.

When I'm having a bad day I listen to music through my Plantronics M70. I set it outside of my ear and not loud. I listen to Christmas music when I'm sad, and have created many playlists to help me relax.

I was overplugging my ears before but that made it worse and only made me think of it more. I only wear it when it's super loud, and you know it'd loud when you can't hear the person next to you.

I've gone on rides at Disney, Disney itself is loud with all the music playing to set the mood for everyone. I also found out that I have tmd, which might be contributing to spikes but the cause was the headphones.

Anyways in the beginning I thought life would never be the same anymore but I don't know where the turning point was for me, I swore off this forum and moved on. I made my husband accountable for me to make sure I don't have those dark thoughts (my actions are readable). I am blessed to still be able to hear and be in decent health. I've stayed busy and have been doing a lot of makeup gigs. I promised myself if I ever get to that bad place again, I will get professional help and not hang out on forums.

I have learned a lot from TT, what things to avoid and the compassion you guys have out there. I have a hard time believing I will ever hear true silence again and I've accepted that. I know that a lot of folks here have it severe, I hope you all find relief, if not a cure one day.

I won't be back, just wanted to drop by and share my story.

Happy for you. Before you go a question – you say it's quiet and you can only hear it in a quiet room. Was it always like that or did it improve over time? Mine is quite loud but I had two days where I could only here it in a quiet room and it was a lot easier to deal with so I am hoping it'll get better over time at least.

Great news, best of luck.

I also have a LectroFan, the standard size model, and like it very much.

Did your T lower over time? more information would be nice.
