I am so, so, SO jealous of people who don't have tinnitus. I am painfully envious of people who fall asleep at night in silence. I'm so jealous of people not having to wear ear plugs constantly.

This isn't fair. I'm so miserable and alone.

Jealousy is OK.
When you want to react to your T, react to your feelings instead. Say,"I hear it, I'm jealous."
I'm suggesting this because it's the first step of the Back To Silence method. You've got your foot in the door now.

Aww duck,
We all understand how you feel when tinnitus impacts on our life and night time .
I understand about being jealous but their are so many hidden health problems people don't see and they can be suffering too .
We are all here for you anytime .
Did you get to tell your parents about your tinnitus ?....lots of love glynis

You are not alone are are over 200 million people worldwide with tinnitus, and you have us as well if u ever wanna talk you can reach me on skype, whatsapp,or group me. More than happy to just talk or listen ,it helps believe me

You're definitely not alone! Although it's hard at first it will get easier. I have most of my life back and although it still bothers me when it spikes, I've certainly come a long way! Never thought I'd go out drinking in town, go to football or travel half way across the world, but I've done that. Little steps at a time, you will get through this and be happier on the other side.

Are you wearing ear plugs all the time? I'd strongly recommend against this, I got H from over protecting. Although completely understandable.

It's all right to feel this way. I honestly think the best thing you can do is let yourself be upset, be angry, be jealous. We've all been there. Once you work your way through these feelings, you may find that you will want to channel that energy in other ways that will lead you to a better place. Many of us are here to feed off each other's support and positive energy. Don't ever give up hope. That's why we are all here.

I kind of understand where you're coming from. I sometimes feel sort of jealous of the musicians who don't have to take their ears into consideration with everything they do. Those who played in loud bands for years and are OK.

But most of the time, I really just feel happy for them :)

May I suggest something?
We're all so different and all have problems and opportunities. That's why you can't really compare people. And why should you compare yourself to others? Life is not a competition. There's nothing to gain by comparing and everything to lose. Just make the best of what you've got! Try to not get upset or jealous, just relax. Try that what @I who love music said. Every time you catch yourself thinking something negative, notice it and are able to look at it 'from a distance', it's a little victory.
Try to focus on what you can control: your reactions to your circumstances. You can't control the universe and the unfairness in it's distribution of chances, so just let that rest.

I hope you can get something out of this.

Jealousy won't help in the long run..Only acceptance...but grief is normal and is part of the process..Whatever you feel right at this moment is valid..but know in time, it can pass and it can change.

You don't (want to) and won't ( I hope) spend your life feeling alone and miserable....

I was just wondering, I came across this thread, and noticed that the last time that "Rubyroseware" was here was back in oct 2015, does anyone know what happened to her ? I know that people just fall off of TT at times. I hope that she is ok.

I was just thinking out loud.
