I've been keeping a mental journal starting May 1, 2017.
April 29th Saturday was my bachelorette party... we went to clubs and bars to celebrate.
The following Monday on the 1st of May is when my tinnitus started in my right ear only. I went to an urgent care thinking maybe I have a ear infection when they told me my eardrums look fine, they gave me a steroid shot and prednisone pills just in case of inflammation... and the doctor told me if the ringing doesn't stop in a week go see an ENT specialist...
During that week my hearing became distorted and I had never in my life had sensitivity to regular sounds like dishes being put away, tv, restaurants, that's when my anxiety started to kick in...
I booked an appt with a ENT and he told me my ear drums look fine and I need do a hearing test, he said I had hearing loss at the very lowest decibel and then said I had cochlear hydrops....he had asked me if I was exposed to loud noise and I said yes my Bach night but for some reason he didn't look much further into it.
He said I needed to live a sodium free diet and he was going to put me on a diuretic. I took this diuretic/blood pressure medication and it made me sick to my stomach....
This was 6 days away from my wedding I couldn't get out of bed...I called the dr and he said to not take it anymore and I asked why he said I had cochlear hydrops but didn't put it down on my paperwork just tinnitus & if anything could be done and he basically said no I'm sorry you'll have to get used to it...if it doesn't go away maybe we can schedule an MRI....
I got married May 20th and made the best out my wedding day...went on our honeymoon, flew on a plane...my T has gotten better...but it's still there...it's made me very anxious and depressed.
I scheduled an appt with an audiologist that specializes in tinnitus but he didn't have an opening until July.
I'm trying my best to stay positive...I have questions and felt like a lab rat...
Did I get my T from acoustic trauma?
A couple of weeks ago if I yawned or chewed it would bring up the tinnitus since then when I yawn or chew I can't hear it anymore I only hear it in quiet places....just putting my personal story out there...
