Hi Folks,
Anyone aware of a posting / document / book that outlines approaches for long-term tinnitus management? Not thinking about shorter-term / specific actions, but more on a general guide to how to maximize quality of life with tinnitus in the long run?
Thinking about it myself, the categories I think that a document like that should cover would be something like.
1. Prevention of Additional Damage
- Noise
- Medications
2. Management of Sound environment
- Enriching background noise
3. Sleep Management
- Sleep Hygiene
- Sleep Monitoring - Quantitative / Qualitative
4. Stress / Depression Management
- HADS / Periodic assessment
- Mental Health checkups
5. Breakout / Spike Approaches
- What to do during a spike / bad period
6. Focus / Attention Management
- Approaches to remove attention from T
7. Diet Management
- Evaluate any trigger
- Supplements (if any)
- General good diet
8. Health and Fitness Management
- Health checkups
- BP / Cholesterol
- TMJ etc
- Periodic hearing evaluation
9. Support and Social Management
- Maintenance of social / friends / family
- Engagement with local communities
- Online Engagement
- Network building
10. Review and support for new therapies
- Assessment of new approaches / Clinical Trials
- Evaluating participation
Cheers.
Peter
