Cause of Tinnitus
Initially stress, but noise exposure made it worse
Hi all,

I guess I'm just looking for a little reassurance.

Earlier tonight, I dropped my bicycle on the floor in a metal floor/walled vehicle elevator at my work. The metal on my bicycle handle bar struck the steel elevator floor with the full force of the falling bike and made a loud, sharp bang.

I didn't have time to plug my ears, and I am now experiencing a loud spike.

Experience tells me that hopefully it should subside in a week or so, but it was a loud bang in an enclosed area, and I'm getting myself worried it cold be permanent. I sure hope it's not!

What do you all think? Likely temporary or permanent?

As always, many thanks in advance,
R

More than likely temporary. protect your ears, take some mag and NAC. Almost all my spikes have been temporary. you do have to protect your ears more than usual after the spike though.

Yes, that's what I'm hoping! My right ear usually recovers from spikes. Though, recently my left ear has really been playing up and it seems keeps getting worse from spikes and not always recovering. Thanks Enrique

Any more for any more?
