Cause of Tinnitus
Ear Infection
I had a really bad cold about 3 weeks ago, a week in I ended up with an ear infection. Received antibiotics and Flonase, the infection seemed to have cleared up but I was left with a clogged ear, was then sent to an ENT and given Prednisone, within the last 4 days or so I noticed this high pitch ringing. I'm able to clear my ears a little bit more everyday but the ringing in my ear is so tough to deal with.

I have been reading forum after forum and the news isn't looking so bright about this tinnitus. I'm starting to worry about worst case scenarios I keep seeing now!

My ENT says that as the inflammation from the fluid behind the ear drum clears the Tinnitus should tone down and subside but I don't see any positive stories anywhere of anyone actually recovering! YIKES!! :arghh:

I know people that recover don't usually stick around these forums but I was still hoping to hear a case where they actually got 'well again'...

Are there any GOOD stories from anyone?

There are many success stories! The reason you don't read a lot about ear infections with tinnitus is because the people who had a simple ear infection likely had their tinnitus clear and don't need the support anymore! So have hope. You've taken all the right steps. You may just need more time.

Hi! I've found a way of coping very well with loud constant tinnitus, and I know what aggravates it. Let me know if your interested in my advice.

Last night was a nightmare

Probably I have fluid too, do you ear noises chowing?
