Maxillofacial Specialist

I have to see a specialist in the morning again following a jaw problem 34 years ago and TMJ.
I have had day splints,night guards and not sure now what to expect.
My dentist says could be new splints,or Beutox or operations so will keep you posted when go in the morning ......keep smiling.....lots of love glynis

Had a phone call this morning and appointment cancelled due to the specialist being off sick....got send out new appointment ..these things happen.
On the good side,
Just rang in work let them know I will be in and now wont miss our school Christmas dinner ....lots of love glynis

Thats too bad regarding the specialist. I hope you dont have a long waiting time for your next appointment.

They said I need surgery on my jaw joints but said it would only last a year and keep needing it done as my jaw joints are not ready to be replaced yet so its managing the problem till that needs doing.
They said to now wear my night guard through the day and go back in six months.
They want to see if wearing a permanent day guard will be better than needing regular jaw surgery .
In six months they will see if a better day splint made will work better than keyhole surgery till the time when the joints might need totally replacing...lots of love glynis
