What medications do you take for the cold and fever? Do you take something like Ibuprofen to lower your fever?

What type of options are out there that don't make tinnitus worse?

I take regular cold medicine. Has no effect on my tinnitus. And I have been sick twice since onset and my tinnitus is still improving. Try not to over think it.

I try to wait it out and take Vit C + fluids for cold and flu. But for the past 2 bouts of flu, I have taken decongestants, anti-histamines, paracetamol, and antibiotics as prescribed.

Antibiotics, which work on bacteria, do not help with the flu (the flu is a virus).

I'm sick and I'm trying to find which is the best option to lower the fever (in case I need it).

I don't know if I have Ménière's disease or what but I'd like not to have a problem with ototoxic drugs.

Thank you!

Caught a bug over the last few days and developed a fever (~38C).

Would it be better to ride out the temperature or take paracetamol (acetaminophen)?

Tnx.

Paracetamol is safe to take.

So I have fever, not feeling well at all.

Is Paracetamol the way to go in case you really need to get the fever down? I will try to ride it out but I would like to have some medication at home just in case.

Personal experiences are appreciated.

I'd say, try to ride the fever out without medications, unless it gets very high. A fever is a natural part of the immune system's response to an infection.

As previously mentioned, Paracetamol should be safe. When I was sick some time ago I had to resort to Paracetamol because I had unbearable pain in my sinuses, and it didn't do anything for me. I did have a temporary spike during that time, but I doubt there was any correlation.
