This low humming sound is drving me crazy. I have it for a couple of days. A new sounds. Have a nasty cold and hope its from that. Yesterday it whas very low but today grrrr just want to scream and cry.

Anybody here also have the low humming sound? And did you get used to it?

Sorry to hear your having a tough time.
My sound is high but I get a drone sound when have a cold too.
I find that a fan sound helps that you can download free off your phone.
Hope it settles down for you soon.
...lots of love glynis

Usually your tinnitus settles back down to your base sound you here most days.
Colds can spike tinnitus and change in sound and ears are the last part of the body to settle.
It can take time to settle after your cold as gone .
Do what you can to mask the sound if it helps and try stay calm as anxiety can add to it causing an increase too.

things like that make me very frightened, but somehow, my belief is that setbacks or rekindling of the tinnitus, is usually short lived. however, in my case, sometimes that short lived turns into 6 months or more, so don't get too depressed if it doesn't happen right away. we're here to give you encouragement.

@valeri Do you also hear it oudside? Because i don't. And how do you sleep because this night i slept terrible, i never had any problem sleeping with my normal T sound but this sound i hate it. I cannot mask it with something. It seems that the sound only wants to come over the masking sound.

Outside I hear it when it's quiet and if it's spiking.
Sleeping with dishwasher on:(
I don't have high pitched noise but I believe it's much easier to habituated to "pure" sounds than this one that takes over your whole head.

My normal T sound is a Hiss and never the same in tone. Some days loud and some days very low. But this low sounds is maddening. And just heard another sound, a bunch of bees in my head. Very strange.

I went to the doctor again and she said that my left ear has a retracted eardrum and on the right side it is also retracted and a lot of fluid behind it. She gave me an antibiotic and nose spray. She told me that the sound will go away and I really hope so. Just so affraid that it wil stay like this.

I get a weird bass like hum/vibration sound in my left ear when I get a bad cold. It sounds like someone in a car playing music with the bass turned up too much, rattling the windows. It goes away (or at least I don't notice it anymore) after my cold goes away. It drove me batty for a bit but now I just let it run its course. I think I always have a low head hum though, but it is usually low enough that it doesn't bother me at all. I have the stupid hiss in my right ear and the steady tone in my left.

thanks. The sound is already mutch lower because my ears plopped open. But now and then i can still hear it but not that loud. But i am still affraid that it wil come back. It is al over my mind. My ears feels from time to time still blocked because my eardrums where withdrawn. And now somethimes i hear my own voice in my ear and somethimes a echo with it. I can plop my ears with moving my jaw. Somethimes it feels like there is a blockade in my ear.

wil this also improve when my cold gets better. I dont have a sore throat anymore but my nose is stil stuffy nose.
