Guys, I just registered to this forum today and I really need your support, I was waiting ENT appointment for one month (It was 3rd appointment with a different ENT) and all he said today was that... he can't help me. He made assumption that it could be damaged nerve. He just told me to get use to it and don't pay attention. He didn't even offered to me to do any tests. It was such a waste of money. I feel so depressed. My T is so loud like a motor engine, I can't even concentrate when I am working, and he just told me to get use to it!!!

Maybe anyone of you has a similar T?
Mine T is just in right ear and like it's very loud (very hard to cover). It's not persistent, sometimes it's gone for day or two, but always comes back. The sound is like "rrrr...rrrrrrrrrrrrr....rrrrrrr.....rrrrrrrrr" (It's not pulsatile). I also feel vibration inside. Sound reminds me when you hear car's engine somewhere far away. It's very low sound.
Please tell me that I am not crazy.

Hi Agnius,

Welcome to the site!

Your experience with the ENT is non uncommon because they typically offer the same, medical-school standard response along the lines of "there is nothing we can for you right now, so the best suggestion is habituation". Naturally, if the ENT were afflicted with tinnitus, I am certain they themselves would not like to hear that response as well. Regarding a hearing test, I would have definitely asked him for one to make in the event that he did not offer.

If there is a silver lining in your case, it is that yours is not persistent. I would love for my tinnitus to give me a day off and just hear silence for a change.

You might want to start taking some supplements of B12/Ginko or even try yoga as some people say it helps them. Good luck!
