Cause of Tinnitus

Hi I'm 38 and have tinnitus, I've had it at least since I was 17. It's in both ears and quite loud, 4 years ago I had hearing aids fitted which helps a bit, in last 10 years I've had few dizzy episodes which has lead to worry.

I've been told it's anxiety and about a year ago BPPV but it's started again. Just waiting for docs appointment but I seem very sensitive to movement (makes me feel off) but seem to be ok when driving which is strange.

Anyway I hope everyone is coping with tinnitus and not getting the "It's all in your head" which I got when I was a kid

Hello, and welcome. I also hope their is a solution ending your t as well. I'm new in this forum as well. I think you will appreciate the support offered here, many very strong helpful people. Best of wishes to you.

Hello Jesus Jack I think you will find this forum is filled with a lot of good advice from people who are well informed. However, with that said, I am not neceassarily one of them, as I am new to the World of T., only 6 weeks or so in. I would suggest that you do read the success stories towards the bottom of the home page, it does give some hope. Also, please realize that this is a world wide site, so it sometimes takes a couple of days before poeple reply, largely due to the fact that they may be on another continent. I was wondering though, do you use a sound machine, or listen to tinnitus therapy music at night? If yes, great, if not think about it.
Good luck with the appointment.

Welcome to the forum. If you suffer from BPPV type of vertigo, there is a maneuver by a lady MD who has episodes of BPPV herself and she used this method to heal her BPPV. I once had a bad episode of BPPV and after doing the maneuver exercise once or twice, the vertigo is gone and never comes back. If you like to try it, here is the link:
