Hey everyone!

I'm 16 years old, my name is Haris, I got tinnitus 1 year ago.

I went to an ENT but he didn't helped at all, I'm an immigrant, I came to U.S when I was 14, I have no one to talk to in my life about this thing, even if i do tell my mom, dad, brother. They say it's nothing i'm just over reacting, i just want to talk to my own people, if that makes sense.

People who know what i'm going through, i never listened to loud songs, never even wore headphones, i did some research, i think my tinnitus is caused by tmj i'll be going to my dentist, my hearing is 100% fine.

And i just wanted to say hi to all of you lovely people!!

And do you think my tinnitus will go away after my tmj is treated?

I know i have tmj because when i open my mouth i hear crackling, when i press my teeths together, my tinitus gets louder and when i move my neck it also gets louder.

When i press my teeth together, my tinnitus gets louder too, same when move the neck. I will go to some specialists to see some treatment, one of them suggest a surgery. If you want I can give you feedback on my treatment here.

Please do. That's interesting.

i forgot to say that i made a rm of my atm and they found a little inflammation, the doc suggests a surgery with some kind of acid to clean the inflammation, but i will go to another specialist to have a second diagnostic

Your doctor may be right. Surgery can lead to complications so there are risks in surgery. You can try some self-help treatments for your TMJ. There should be lots of such info on the Internet. One good and concise one is here below. Take good care. God bless.

Hi @Harris08 -

Welcome to the forum. Please know you have found caring, knowlegeable and understanding people with whom you can share any concerns or issues you have about your tinnitus. It seems that surgery does have its risks so as @billie48 suggests, there may be a variety of self-help treatments which you can try and, hopefully, you will have success with these.

If your parents and brother seem unable to understand the subject of tinnitus please understand that this is not unusual since many people who have not experienced this malady can not possibly know what it is like to have it.

I hope you can find some solution which will work for you and feel free to post whenever you want.

Best wishes,
Barbara

Hey Bobby! Is there any other treatments? That does not include surgery? Like wearing a splinter? Or whatever it's called

@Harris08 - Since I am not knowledgeable about any treatments dealing with your specific problem, I suggest you consult the website which Billie48 mentioned above and do some research about self-help treatments on the internet.

Best wishes,
Barbara
