New to the Forum, but I'm Not Sure If I Have Tinnitus?

Hey, all!

I am new here. Pretty confused at to what is going on with me. I don't ever have actual ringing in my ear. What I do experience sometimes, since about a month ago... is vibrating (rare) in mostly my left ear. It is like I can feel my eardrums vibrate now and then.

What I am hearing is repetive noises, songs, and a few voices (that alternate in my head). When I mean voices, I mean I know they come from inside my head (not hallucinating) and they just repeat a word or two for a while. Not talking or actual conversatons. Sometimes when I hear these voices and repetitive noises I can feel my eardrums (particularly the left) vibrate.

I am also experiencing sensitivity to sounds and can wake up easily due to this. Even the air conditioner can bother me when it is on.

I am naturally an overthinker. Overanalysis/OCD may just be the cause of all this. I don't think I have any real hearing loss.

The only thing that makes me think this could be tinnitus is that I started playing Fortnite about a year ago (the game just turned one year old). I had never been much of a gamer or even used headphones/earbuds to play games before. I bought some in ear buds from Skully not long after I started playing Fortnite.

I didn't have the volume set at the highest level, but it was loud enough to where I can hear a lot of what goes on during the matches. I am not sure if about a year (or slightly less) or playing this game on a daily basis is enough to cause tinnitus.

I did have some earwax issues where I decided to put in hyrdogen peroxide in empty eyedrop container. I didn't mix it with water (I know, kind of dumb). I just put in a few drops in my left ear to clean it a bit. A day or two later I noticed the inside of my left ear felt sore, but I don't think I got an ear infection as that would have been very painful.

I guess that could also have caused some sort of issue. I am not sure. But, I guess from what I have been reading is... I must go to an ENT to get checked for tinnitus? Is that a 100% accurate way to determine if one has it?
