- Tinnitus Since
- approx 30 yrs
- Cause of Tinnitus
- unknown
I have an apt tomorrow morning with my audiologist, who has really gone above and beyond to try and help with my t, I am guessing I have had it for 30 yrs if not longer, have no idea how or when it started, and thought everyone had this ringing in their ears...
I have been trying the zen with various adjustments for a little over a month, and my tinnitus seems louder, which may be the brain trying to be trained, and it's not working, at least for me. tried the chimes, the white noise, with and without the microphone on. With the microphone, it reminds me of someone trying to open Turkish taffey in a quiet movie theater and all you ear is the crackling of the paper.
I have tried it with one ear to make the chimes louder and the other to make it lower and unfortunately that isn't working. to add to it, I am having a real hard time adjusting to having something in my ear at all times. even had my husband try it, who doesn't have tinnitus and it didn't bother him at all....figures.
But I will probably hand them back in tomorrow, it was $2200 with insurance and even if I hand them back it still costs $600 for her time. ouch....but it was worth a try and a good friend, who was the one that recommended both the zen and the doctor, loves his and wouldn't go without it.
I am going to look for any testing opportunities since I am sure something with be figured out eventually, I don't doubt that if you have vertigo, and lucky me, I do, that they are somehow connected, only makes sense.
If anyone else tries the zen I hope you have better luck, or at least can return without having to pay such a high amount. thank you for reading and "listening"
