- ? Music studio/back issues/stress?
Hi Everybody, I'm
new to Tinnitustalk and T
At 59 years old and retired 3 years ago I've been playing music for 52 years. Now it seems I can't stand listening to the music. It's pretty worrisome. I have a recording studio at home with a drum room and its my favorite place in the world. Hard to consider it's not my favorite place any more as the music seems to intensify the T over itself.
I sleep alright, the 3 mg of melatonin works well enough, I'm kinda ok in the mornings for a bit and as the day wears on so does the 11.5K-ish pitch in the left ear, there are other tones as well but that 11.5k whistle feels like a career ender...right now anyway. The right ear has some T at around 1k, it's not too bad. By the end of the day both ears have that above 10k zone sssssss and its become increasingly impossible to concentrate on anything including music. I fear, yes fear, it may be H as well. I've worn earplugs at night to sleep for a couple of decades, now I find myself wearing them during the days. I read that's not helpful but I find some relief in it.
This all started 3 months ago with some nausea spells and the then soft T has become steadily worse. I've taken precautions, earplugs in loud settings, less than 80db volume is religiously maintained in the studio control room, and yet it worsens by the week. Vitamin b12, Kali phos, ginko biloba, melatonin, cut down to one cup of coffee a day, and a lot of herbal tea. The T keeps coming.
I get to see an ENT in a couple of days and have a back up ENT 10days later as I think having two on the go at the early stages of this is the best plan so far. While access to the medical profession in Canada is pre paid thru the tax system the time it takes to see a specialist is often quite costly.
I live alone, just me and my special four legged pal, a white german shepherd. The T is somewhat isolating and the once prized solitude for us, a couple of lone wolves, is becoming less manageable for this boy and his dog, so after reading many posts I've joined Tinnitustalk for a boost in spirit and hopefully more.
Not being alone in this somehow feels better
Best to all and thanks for all the posts
