Cause of Tinnitus
Ear infection
About 3 weeks ago, after a bad cold, I got a sinus infection that got to my ears. My ENT prescribed antibiotics for 7 days and they didn't work. Another ENT performed a myringotomy on my right ear to extract the fluid. After a couple of days after the myringotomy, my ear was infected and I got tinnitus. My ENT says the tinnitus will go once my eardrum heals and the infection is cleared, that I have to be patient. However, I haven't slept in days and am starting to get really depressed. HELP!

Have a chat with your doctor about melatonin to help you sleep.
Try an antihistamine to reduce mucous and a nasil spray to help keep your tubes clear and a extra pillow at night to help.
See if that helps you.
I have a sinus problem also and awaiting an ENT appointment.
Love glynis

Do you think my tinnitus will ever go away?

I wish there was a different answer to give you, but nobody can tell you that for sure. I do, however, think there's a better chance for your tinnitus to go away than ones caused by loud noise or music, but even that is a guess.

However, it will probably decrease a bit over time and should it not go away entirely, you will adapt more and more to it, no matter how unlikely that feels at the moment.
