Tinnitus Since
28 October 2015
I'm only just become aware of tinnitus, but have a few questions I hope someone can answer?

My main high pitch ringing has dropped away quite a bit. It's still there but seems more muted/constrained.

While this is great, I'm now more aware of the even higher pitch tone and loud static ringing it was masking.

I have also found my affected ear is super sensitive to sound, and although there's quite a bit of hearing loss, it's picking up things my unaffected ear isn't.

Is this typical?

Thanks :)

Hi,
Tinnitus can change in sound and strength any time and can be for no reason or for a few reasons.
Tinnitus can cause your ears become sensitive to sound and if the sensitivity becomes problem you could have Hyperacusis .
You are doing well and let your doctor know about your tinnitus and if becomes a problem he can support you too as emotions can be up and down at first...lots of love glynis
