I have visited this forum but never joined.

I have had tinnitus and vertigo since a head trauma incident, resulting in Meniere's Disease.
Some 8 years later specialists determined that my Meniere's was a disability, and so it was.

Their verdict as well was that my condition was incurable.

Offered no hope, I stopped seeing my specialists but regularly saw my very aware primary care doc.

A few years in, I was summoned for jury duty, knew I couldn't handle it, and my primary care doc provided a letter so I would be excused.

I was on SSDI for 5 years then, with age, transitioned to full SS Retirement.

Presently, I am summoned again for Jury Service.

I contacted my primary care doctor for a letter, same as 5 years ago.

His staff says he has received my request but there is so far not letter waiting for me.

My next appointment with my primary care doc, for a physical, is not for another month.

I will ask then why he seemingly overlooked providing me with a letter for submitting to the court.

For now, I am somewhat devastated. I cannot sit through a court trial. Too many ear-ringings and head noises that crop up and carry on with a vengeance. And what if I'm struck with a vertigo episode.

This is why I stay to myself. I hate making a scene in public.

Anyway, I wanted to vent, did so, thank you for indulging me. I wish us all good fortitude.

My sincere thanks for your listening.

Call up the courthouse and ask for a postponement. Then later ask your doc to give you a letter.

I totally understand as I have Menieres also and the ringing in both ears is bad along with brain fog and poor concentration and could never do jury service with that and my other health problems.

Look out for our Menieres thread on Tinnitus talk too....lots of love glynis
