So we know that OTO-413 uses Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) to hopefully restore cochlear synapses. I have seen a few threads on boosting your BDNF levels with supplements (curcumin, coffee fruit, etc.), but not much information on Noopept.
Noopept is a nootropic drug similar to racetams. Apparently it can increase brain BDNF and NGF levels:
Noopept stimulates the expression of NGF and BDNF in rat hippocampus
Deficit of Neurotrophins in Experimental Diabetes – Correction with a Proline-Containing Dipeptide
Has anyone taken this for a longer time? Any effects? Obviously I am not looking to enhance my cognitive performance, it seems a lot of people are taking Noopept for exactly that. I had taken a few 10 mg capsules, but it seemed that I was having more trouble sleeping after taking it, so I discontinued it.
