Cause of Tinnitus
Ear Syringing (Acoustic Trauma)
Hello everyone,

It's been 9 days already since the onset of my tinnitus. It started after an ear syringing procedure because I had impactead ear wax in my right ear and I've never had it done before, so I said "Hey, let's go to an ENT and get this over with, he'll know what to do" lmfao... Nine days ago I was fine. Couldn't hear a thing on my right ear but I was fine. Since than I've visited two ENTs, and I'm on prednisone 50mg x 7 days. My pitch has gone away for a few hours, it lowered in volume and frecuency, and even has gave me the opportunity to hear silence again, even though last night had a setback because I took diclifenac and had a spike that woke me up. This situation has really affected me, and even though I have tried to mantain a positive outlook on life, sometimes it wins over me. Suffering will not bring anything good into my life, it's not useful, it doesn't help and it just brings misery, without giving something in return.

For the first few days I was suicidal, and I really thought I wouldn't live through this. I know my T is recent, but I really need some help. I don't know what is wrong with me: hearing tests are fine and show no hearing loss, tympanommetry is fine, ear is not swollen. Could it be internal? How can a syringing procedure can affect internal ear like this?

There's nothing left to do but wait... I think I will have an intramuscular dexamethasone done today, see if it helps a bit. The sun is really hard to see sometimes.
