      Hello!

I hear my ringing only if I block my ears. Often I have no ringing but still, sometimes, I can't handle a conversation or other noise. Ears start to burn. In a long time haven't experienced pain. Really thankful for that.

Is it typical after many months (21) to have these symptoms?

That's what I had with severe hyperacusis. Pressure, pain etc but no ringing. Tinnitus started years later.

My ringing after 21 months is, basically, over. But I still have TTTS and a bit of hyperacusis that comes back time after time in flashes.

I had hyperacusis for a very long time before I developed any noticeable tinnitus.

My ringing is back but it's quiet. I hear it only in a quiet room.

Mine originally was from loud noise exposure.

I can't call myself a success story but you can read my started threads and written posts.

Hang in there. Ears take lots of time.

I can share with my weird experience - when my hyperacusis ramped up, my tinnitus beceme a lot easier to mask.

After my last big worsening in 2018 I could hear it everywhere, even on the street or max speed standing fan next to me. Then a few weeks later hyperacusis kicked in and even a computer fan can mask it completely now. The tinnitus isn't much quieter in silence, it's only less problematic to mask by sounds. Louder sounds which cannot mask it then seems too loud for me now, so it's not an ideal situation though...
