I got diagnosed with PCOS around 2 weeks ago.

I have an appointment with an endocrinologist and I would like to ask members who have experience with this condition about what to do/what not to do in order to not exacerbate the ringing. Medications to avoid, what to ask from the doctor?

I probably will be tested for IR as well, do you think that maybe PCOS, IR and tinnitus could have some connection?

Hey @Kriszti, I am also diagnosed with PCOS, but long before the onset of my tinnitus. I know that it's related to IR, and I changed my diet to balance my hormones because I wanted to get pregnant (that worked after a couple of years). My IR is under control because of the diet change.

Thank you, @Hamsti. Your profile picture is cute with the little one. :)

Do you take anything for the PCOS? I'd rather avoid medication at any reasonable cost, I'm always very stressed about possible ototoxicity. Or "just" the diet change? I'm overweight, so I think I will benefit overall from diet change.

Thank you @Kriszti :)

I take Rosuvastatin because of my high cholesterol, which is also a symptom of PCOS.
I believe that Rosuvastatin prevents the tinnitus from getting worse (less plaque buildup in the inner ear).

@Hamsti, turns out I have insulin resistance too. I'm not surprised, I kind of suspected it after the PCOS diagnosis. My 120' insulin is 95. I got Metformin prescribed for it and 160 g CH diet. Well it's not going great. I'll probably take the meds, it seems to generally not affect tinnitus.
